Cerasiello
On the top floor of an ancient building in the historic center of Naples, it overlooks rooftops and domes, looking east to Vesuvius and west to the hill with Castel Sant'Elmo and the Certosa di San Martino.
The recent renovation by the architect owners has made it a charming apartment imbued with an eclectic Mediterranean spirit.
On the charming terrace, majolica tables sit beneath a reed canopy; terracotta jars, brick planters, small vases in zoomorphic shapes, and anthropomorphic Sicilian ceramics house Mediterranean and aromatic plants, jasmine, and antique roses, while the murmur of a small, enchanting majolica fountain provides the background music for moments of relaxation before and after a dip in the bustling city below.
The four guest rooms—air, water, fire, and earth—evoke the four elements, all so strongly present in the Neapolitan region. On their walls, paintings, prints, and photographs offer an excursus of the places in Naples and the surrounding area dedicated to them: a journey in pursuit of the fire smoldering beneath Vesuvius, the water shimmering in the gulf, above and below the bustling earth, with eyes turned skyward in a city that is also symbol, atmosphere, and idea.
Located in the Borgo dei Vergini*, also known as the Baroque district for the predominant style of its architecture, a district in which many recognize the most authentic and popular soul of the city, rich in cultural and artistic attractions, and from which you can walk to San Gregorio Armeno and the street of the nativity scenes, the Naples Underground , the Duomo of San Gennaro, San Lorenzo Maggiore, San Domenico Maggiore, Santa Chiara, the Sansevero Chapel, Spaccanapoli, the “MADRE” Museum of Contemporary Art and the National Archaeological Museum.
The house is also close to the METRO lines 1 and 2, which are a great starting point for your excursions.
