Schiara stands in the heart of Naples' historic center .
The bulk of the ancient Monumental Complex of Santa Chiara, which gives its name to the charming maison de charme, can almost be touched, illuminating its terraces with yellow tuff.
But Schiara is also the embodiment of the hopeful Neapolitan greeting "addà schiarà," or "it must be schiara again," which offers encouragement in dark times.
Its five rooms, MYTHS, RITES, VOWS, FAITHS and CUNTI are rooms of a millenary and passionate culture: they propose a journey within the journey, in pursuit of the mythology on which Naples lives and feeds, of the superstition of rites and amulets with which it defends itself, of the gratitude expressed with the ex-voto, of the devotion manifested in 500 domes, 52 patrons and 2000 votive aedicules, of the fascination exerted by tales originating from distant times.
